Dr. Riana Sanyal, M.D.

Dr. Riana Sanyal graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Brown University. She was awarded the Klingenstein National Merit Scholarship to attend the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where she completed a dual MD/MS in Clinical Research. During medical school, she performed translational research at the Laboratory of Inflammatory Skin Diseases at Mount Sinai and presented her work on atopic dermatitis and alopecia at national and international meetings.
She moved to California to complete her dermatology residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where she served as Chief resident. During residency, Dr. Sanyal contributed to the American Academy of Dermatology podcast Dialogues in Dermatology by writing commentaries on the latest developments in the field. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters on a variety of topics including cutaneous immunology, dermatopathology, and biologic therapies. In addition to medical dermatology, Dr. Sanyal has pursued an interest in the aesthetic and procedural aspects of the field. She was recognized by the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery with the prestigious Women in Energy Based Devices Early Career Award, highlighting her research in this area.
Dr. Sanyal values the importance of providing comprehensive care to her patients, encompassing medical, surgical, and cosmetic aspects of dermatology. She strives to help her patients feel and look their best by offering treatments that are up-to-date and tailored to the individual.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring hiking trails and visiting dog-friendly beaches with her family and friends.
